DNA Canada's Grand-parentage DNA Test services are designed to definitively establish the biological relationship between an individual and an alleged grand-parent. Our simple Cheek Swab collection kit is fast and easy. The individuals collect DNA and send it to our lab. In less than 2-4 weeks you receive your results in an easy-to-understand format.

Two different types of Grand-parentage Testing

Single Grand-parentage DNA Analysis:

This DNA test includes one grandparent and one child. If possible, a parent of the child is also tested to make the comparison between the child’s DNA and the grandparent’s DNA easier by providing additional genetic information. There is no charge for the child’s parent.

Duo Grand-parentage DNA Analysis:

This DNA test includes both grandparents and one child. The child’s parent is optional but strongly suggested.

For the most accurate results in a grand-parentage analysis it is best to include both the alleged grandparents and the child. The grandparents who are tested must be either both paternal grandparents or both maternal grandparents.

Grandparentage tests are typically very conclusive. The possible results for a grandparentage test are either they are or they are not the biological grandparents.
